Garden of the Phoenix: Four Seasons
These images were created over one year, at and around the Garden of the Phoenix, a Japanese Garden located on the Wooded Island in Jackson Park, one of Chicago Park District’s most notable parks. It was first gifted by the government of Japan to the city of Chicago for the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition to showcase Japan’s rich culture and heritage. Along with SKYLANDING — the lotus flower sculpture by Yoko Ono — which sits just outside the garden, this South Side gem continues to be a beautiful, enduring symbol of peace and good relations between Japan and the United States.
